What the plugin sends us
Only what we need to watch and fix your site. This page lists it.
Needs WP 6.3 to 7.1, PHP 8.0 or newer, and an administrator login. One site per install.
The download is a plugin. Turning it on connects your site to cmshands.com and adds 3 small rescue files. Deleting the plugin removes them and everything it stored. What we send
When you turn it on
Your site's addresses, where WordPress keeps its files, which of those folders WordPress may write to, and the versions of WordPress, PHP and the plugin.
While we watch your site
- A short heartbeat, and which of our helper files are in place.
- Version numbers and the list of installed plugins and themes.
- The contents of
wp-config.phpand.htaccess, with secrets such as passwords and keys removed before anyone reads them. - Error messages, and the values of a fixed, published list of WordPress settings.
When you use Chat
What you write, the files you attach, and what the assistant reads from your site to answer you. A person at CMSHands can read the conversation; here's who we are.
If WordPress ever can't load at all, the chat may ask for an SFTP login: the login your host gives you for your site's files. You type it into a form on our site, not into the chat or WordPress. We keep it encrypted and delete it when you disconnect your site, or sooner if you ask.
What we never take
Your WordPress password, your visitors' or customers' data, or the contents of your posts beyond what a fix or a change you asked for needs. The plugin stores only a public key on your site, never a private key.
