CMSHands is on, and something's wrong

Open CMSHands › Chat in your WP dashboard and say what's wrong. It's the quickest way: it already knows your site. A person at CMSHands can read the conversation.

The CMSHands chat in a WP dashboard: CMSHands › Chat in the left menu, and the Help button at the top right

The chat's Help button has short articles: how changes work, imports, and where to find your host's SFTP login.

You can't turn it on, or your site is down

Email info@cmshands.com with your site's address and, if the plugin showed one, the error code.

The upload or Turn on didn't work

My Mac unzipped the file.

Safari opens zip files by itself. Download it again in another browser, or first turn off Safari › Settings › General › Open “safe” files after downloading.

There's no Upload Plugin button.

You need an administrator login. Some hosts and site builders switch plugin uploads off. Your host can tell you.

WP says the plugin is already installed.

It's on your site already. Press Replace current with uploaded to use this copy, or go to Plugins and look for CMSHands Connector.

WP says my PHP or WP version is too old.

CMSHands needs WP 6.3 or newer and PHP 8.0 or newer. Your host sets the PHP version and can tell you how to change it.

Turn on didn't finish.

Press it again. If it stops again, write to us with your site's address and the message it showed.

Not installed yet?

Needs WP 6.3 to 7.1, PHP 8.0 or newer, and an administrator login. One site per install.

The download is a plugin. Turning it on connects your site to cmshands.com and adds 3 small rescue files. Deleting the plugin removes them and everything it stored. What we send

  1. Download the plugin.

It's free: 3 changes to try it. No account, no card.

  2. Upload and activate it.

In your dashboard: Plugins › Add Plugin › Upload Plugin (Add New Plugin on older WP). Choose the file, press Install Now, then Activate Plugin.

  3. Press Turn on.

Press Turn on CMSHands. No account, no key, no password.
