WP Ultimate CSV Importer is a trademark of its owner. CMSHands is not affiliated with it.
What it does here
- Attach the sheet as it is and say what you want. Nobody matches columns to fields first: it works out which is which.
- Before anything changes, one card shows the whole import. Show all opens every row as it will be saved.
- One Undo moves new products to the trash for 30 days and gives changed ones their old values back.
More it does here (4)
- It updates products you already have, found by SKU, your file's product code. Rows with no change are skipped.
- If someone edits a product after you saw the card, the import skips it and names it, so their edit stays.
- It makes the categories your file names, in the same import and the same undo.
- New products start as drafts, so shoppers don't see them until you publish them.

Which one fits
Who should keep WP Ultimate CSV Importer
Keep WP Ultimate CSV Importer if you import user accounts or custom fields, or your file holds web addresses of product pictures. Its free version does those, and Pro adds updates to existing records and imports on a schedule (wordpress.org, read Oct 14, 2026). CMSHands doesn't import users, custom fields or images, or run imports on a schedule.
Can you use both?
Yes. Posts, users and scheduled feeds can stay in WP Ultimate CSV Importer, and a product list that turns up by email can go through the chat once imports open with the paid plan. We haven't tried the two side by side on our test site yet, a WP site we run to try every task before we write about it. Give each product one source for its price, so one tool doesn't overwrite the other.
What it won't do here
- Imports open with the paid planThe paid plan isn't open yet. Until it is, the free plugin answers questions about your shop and changes words on your pages when you approve.
- Simple products, and no images yetNo variations, such as one mug in three glazes. Pictures named in your file aren't added yet: put them on each product after the import.
- No users, custom fields or exportsIt doesn't import user accounts or fill the extra fields other plugins add, such as Advanced Custom Fields. It doesn't export your products to a file.
- No imports on a scheduleSend the file each time: save the sheet as CSV or Excel and attach it. It can't fetch a feed or a Google Sheet by itself.
- Up to 2,000 products in one importEach file can be up to 10 MB. Split a bigger catalog and import the parts one after the other.

Questions
Is CMSHands part of WP Ultimate CSV Importer?
No. CMSHands is a separate product from a separate company, and it isn't affiliated with Smackcoders, who make it. If you need help with their plugin, ask on its support forum at wordpress.org or on smackcoders.com.
Who makes WP Ultimate CSV Importer, and what does Pro cost?
Smackcoders makes it, and the importer is free on wordpress.org. Its pricing page lists 3 paid plans, each paid once and usable on any number of sites: Custom Field Import and WPML Import at $199, and Premium at $299. Each comes with free upgrades and a year of support. The prices were shown as reduced, so check there before you buy (smackcoders.com, read Oct 14, 2026).
Can WP Ultimate CSV Importer update products I already have?
Only in Pro. Its wordpress.org page says updating existing records is a Pro feature (read Oct 14, 2026). In CMSHands, the same import that adds new products also updates the ones you have, found by SKU, on the paid plan, which isn't open yet.
How do I import a CSV with WP Ultimate CSV Importer?
Upload your CSV, XML or Excel file, map each column to a field, check the data, then run the import. Its page says a Google Sheets tab works too: publish the tab as CSV, copy its public address and use Upload from External URL (wordpress.org, read Oct 14, 2026).
Can CMSHands add products from a CSV?
Yes, on the paid plan, which isn't open yet. Attach the sheet and say what you want. One card shows every product before it goes in, as drafts, and one Undo takes them out. Simple products only: no images or variations yet. Up to 2,000 in one import.
What does the free plugin do for my shop right now?
It answers questions and makes small changes you approve. Ask “Which of my products are out of stock?” and you get the list, with nothing changed. It can also change the words on a page. You get 3 changes with no account, then 10 a month once you add your email. Imports come with the paid plan.
