Needs WP 6.3 to 7.1 and PHP 8.0 or newer. What it installs
Needs WP 6.3 to 7.1, PHP 8.0 or newer, and an administrator login. One site per install.
The download is a plugin. Turning it on connects your site to cmshands.com and adds 3 small rescue files. Deleting the plugin removes them and everything it stored. What we send

- Nothing changes without your OK
- Undo in one click, or a warning first
- No account, no password to share
ChatGPT is a trademark of its owner. CMSHands is not affiliated with it.
What it does here
- Ask in plain words and it makes the change on your page itself. There's nothing to copy and paste.
- First it shows a card, a box in the chat that shows exactly what would change. Nothing changes until you press.
- Undo on the card puts it back. On our test site, Undo took a change off the About page, then checked it was back the way it was.
More it does here (5)
- On block themes it adds a button or block, like a “Book a class” button, with a picture of the page first.
- It updates plugins from the WP plugin directory. A broken update on our test site went back on its own.
- It writes a new page or blog post on your site when you ask. Undo removes it.
- It installs a plugin from the WP plugin directory. Undo switches it off and deletes it.
- Ask “Give me a quick health report” and it answers without changing anything.

Which one fits
Who should keep ChatGPT
Keep ChatGPT for writing, ideas and questions that go beyond your site. Its free plan covers everyday conversations and writing help (chatgpt.com, read Oct 14, 2026). On paid plans other than Go, its cloud browser can sign in to supported websites and carry out steps there (help.openai.com, read Oct 14, 2026). CMSHands works only inside the one WP site it's installed on.
Can you use both?
Yes. You can draft words in ChatGPT, then paste them into the CMSHands chat and say which page they go on. You still see the card before anything changes. Let one tool change a page at a time, or you won't know which one changed what.
Why it won't wreck your site
- Nothing changes until you press the button. Every change comes as a card that names it. Nothing happens until you press the button or Not now.
- You see it first. Old words in red, new words in green. For layout, before-and-after pictures on a computer and a phone.
- One click undoes it. When something can't be undone, like deleting a page or a plugin, the card says so before you press.
- Updates put themselves back. After a plugin update it checks your site. If the site got worse, the old version goes back on its own.
What it won't do here
- Older themesHeader, footer, layout and style changes need a block theme, the newer kind of WP theme: your dashboard has Appearance › Editor.
- Menus, widgets and page-builder pagesIt changes pages, posts, and the block-theme header and footer. Not menus, widgets, theme settings or page-builder pages.
- Premium pluginsInstalls and updates cover the free plugins at wordpress.org. A plugin you bought updates through its maker, not the chat.
- DeletingDeleting a page or a plugin can't be undone. The card says so before you press.

Questions
Is CMSHands a ChatGPT plugin?
No. CMSHands is a separate plugin from a separate company, and it isn't affiliated with OpenAI, the maker of ChatGPT. You don't need a ChatGPT account to use it. It adds its own chat to your WP dashboard.
How do I add ChatGPT to WordPress?
With a plugin that connects to it. In your WP dashboard, go to Plugins › Add Plugin and search for ChatGPT. On Oct 14, 2026 that search showed 1,488 results from other makers. Read each plugin's page for what it needs, such as an API key from OpenAI, and check its rating and last update.
Can ChatGPT edit my WordPress site?
It can write the words for you to paste in. On paid plans other than Go, its cloud browser can sign in to supported websites and carry out steps there (help.openai.com, read Oct 14, 2026). We haven't tried that on a WP dashboard. CMSHands makes the change from inside your dashboard, shows it on a card first, and Undo puts it back.
Can I use ChatGPT to write a WordPress blog post?
Yes. Ask ChatGPT for a draft and copy it. In your dashboard, go to Posts › Add Post, paste it into the editor and press Save draft. Check names, prices and dates before you press Publish. With CMSHands you can ask the chat to write the post on your site instead, and Undo removes it.
Is it free?
To start, yes: 3 changes with no account, then 10 a month once you add your email. Questions are free, up to 30 a day.
