Jetpack AI alternative with a built-in undo
A free plugin adds a chat to your WP dashboard. Ask it to write a post or change a sentence. Nothing changes until you press, and Undo puts it back.
Needs WP 6.3 to 7.1 and PHP 8.0 or newer. What it installs
Needs WP 6.3 to 7.1, PHP 8.0 or newer, and an administrator login. One site per install.
The download is a plugin. Turning it on connects your site to cmshands.com and adds 3 small rescue files. Deleting the plugin removes them and everything it stored. What we send

- Undo on the card takes a new post off the site again, or puts the old words back.
More it does here (2)

Which one fits
Who should keep Jetpack AI
Keep Jetpack AI if you want help inside the editor: title ideas, a featured image, tone, grammar and translations. Its paid plan also lets an AI app you already use work across many of your sites (jetpack.com/ai, read Oct 14, 2026). CMSHands doesn't make images, and it looks after one site from inside its own dashboard.
Can you use both?
Yes. Jetpack AI works inside the editor, and CMSHands works from its own chat. We haven't tried the two together on our test site yet, so ask one of them for a change at a time, or you won't know which one changed what.
Why it won't wreck your site
- Nothing changes until you press the button. Every change comes as a card that names it. Nothing happens until you press the button or Not now.
- One click undoes it. When something can't be undone, like deleting a page or a plugin, the card says so before you press.
What it won't do here
- No imagesIt can't make, upload or replace an image. Jetpack AI can make a featured image in the editor.
- A new post's card doesn't show the wordsThe card names the change, Add a post. If you asked it to publish, the post goes live when you press. To read it first, ask for a draft.
- Quoted words must appear onceTo change a sentence, the words you quote must appear exactly once on that page or post.
- Pages and posts onlyIt changes a page or post's words, title and excerpt. Menus, widgets and page-builder pages are out of reach.

Questions
Is CMSHands part of Jetpack AI?
No. CMSHands is a separate product from a separate company, and it isn't affiliated with Jetpack or Jetpack AI. If you're looking for your Jetpack AI plan or its requests, go to jetpack.com.
Is the Jetpack AI Assistant free?
For 20 requests, yes. Jetpack's page says the AI block is free up to 20 requests, and then you upgrade. The Jetpack AI plan is $9.95 a month, or $4.95 a month for the first year, billed yearly. We read this on jetpack.com/ai on Oct 14, 2026, so check there for today's price.
Where is the Jetpack AI Assistant in WordPress?
In the editor, the screen where you write a post or page. Jetpack adds it as a block. Jetpack needs an account with its maker, separate from your WP login, before it works. Letting an outside AI app reach the site is off until you turn it on under Jetpack › Jetpack AI (jetpack.com/ai and wordpress.org, read Oct 14, 2026).
Can I undo a change without restoring my whole site?
Yes, for the change it made. Undo on its card takes a new post off the site again, or puts the old words back. On our test site, a WP site we run to try every task, Undo removed the autumn workshop draft, then checked that the site was back the way it was. It doesn't copy your whole site.
