WP MCP, or an AI agent already in your dashboard
Not an MCP server: CMSHands adds no MCP connection. It's a plugin with its own chat in your WP dashboard.
A free plugin adds a chat to your WP dashboard. Ask, and it edits pages, writes posts and updates plugins. You see each change first, and Undo puts it back.
Works on block themes: you'll see Appearance › Editor in your dashboard.
Needs WP 6.3 to 7.1 and PHP 8.0 or newer. What it installs
Needs WP 6.3 to 7.1, PHP 8.0 or newer, and an administrator login. One site per install.
The download is a plugin. Turning it on connects your site to cmshands.com and adds 3 small rescue files. Deleting the plugin removes them and everything it stored. What we send

Watch it do this on a real site
You ask
You type what you want in the chat, in your own words. It sits in your WP dashboard, under CMSHands.
Quillmoor Pottery, WP 7.1.3, Twenty Twenty-Four. Step times count from the moment the request was sent.
- It changes words on your pages and posts after you press the button on its card. Undo puts them back.
- It updates a plugin from the WP plugin directory, checks your site, and puts the old version back if it got worse.
- It writes a new page or blog post when you ask. Undo removes it.
More it does here (4)
- On block themes it edits your header, footer and page blocks, with before and after pictures.
- On block themes it styles colors and forms with CSS, the rules that set how your site looks.
- It installs a plugin from wordpress.org. Undo switches it off and deletes it.
- Ask “Give me a health report” and it answers without changing anything.
Why it won't wreck your site
- Nothing changes until you press the button. Every change comes as a card that names it. Nothing happens until you press the button or Not now.
- You see it first. Old words in red, new words in green. For layout, before-and-after pictures on a computer and a phone.
- One click undoes it. When something can't be undone, like deleting a page or a plugin, the card says so before you press.
- Updates put themselves back. After a plugin update it checks your site. If the site got worse, the old version goes back on its own.
What it won't do here
- Header, footer and styles need a block themeOn an older theme, one with Appearance › Customize instead of Editor, it writes the CSS for you to paste. It can't edit that header or footer.
- Not menus, widgets or page-builder pagesIt edits pages, posts, and the header and footer on block themes. Menus, widgets, theme settings and page-builder pages are out of reach.
- Plugins from the WP plugin directory onlyIt installs and updates the free plugins at wordpress.org. A premium plugin you bought updates through its maker.
- One plugin at a time“Update all my plugins” becomes one card per plugin, each checked before the next.

Questions
What is WordPress MCP?
It's a way to let an AI app on your computer work with your WP site. MCP, the Model Context Protocol, is an open standard for linking AI apps to outside systems. An MCP server plugin adds an address to your site, and the app connects to it with a WP username and an Application Password.
Is there a WordPress MCP server plugin?
Yes. WordPress's own MCP Adapter is one. Its guide says it needs WP 6.9 or newer and https on your site. On its own it adds no AI features: the app can only run actions your plugins mark as public, so the list can start empty (read Oct 14, 2026).
Is it safe to connect an AI app to WordPress over MCP?
It's as safe as the WP user you connect it with. The app acts with that user's role, and its actions change your live site like a click in wp-admin. Use a separate user with the lowest role that does the job and one Application Password per app. Revoke it under Users › Profile when you're done, and try new actions on a staging copy first.
Does CMSHands have an MCP server?
No. CMSHands adds no MCP server and no address for outside AI apps. It's a plugin with its own chat in your WP dashboard, and each change comes as a card you approve first. If you want the AI app on your computer to reach your site, an MCP server plugin is the tool for that.
Is it free?
To start, yes: 3 changes with no account, then 10 a month once you add your email. Questions are free, up to 30 a day (100 with your email).
