Create a meet-the-team page in WP

A free plugin adds a chat to your WP dashboard. Type each person's name and one line about them. It adds the page when you press; undo takes it off.

Works on block themes: you'll see Appearance › Editor in your dashboard. How to tell

  • It writes a new page from what you type: a heading with each person's name and their line under it.
  • Nothing is added until you press Add the page on the card, the box in the chat you press to approve.
  • Undo takes the page off your site again, and it checks afterwards.

How to create a meet the team page in WordPress yourself

Checked on WP 7.1, Oct 14, 2026

  1. 1. In your WP dashboard (the screens you log in to at yoursite.com/wp-admin), go to Pages › Add Page.

  2. 2. If a Choose a pattern box opens, press Close to start with a blank page.

  3. 3. Click Add title and type Meet the team. WP makes the page's address from it: yoursite.com/meet-the-team.

  4. 4. Press the + at the top left, open the Patterns tab and choose Team.

  5. 5. Click a team layout to add it, such as Team members, 4 columns on Twenty Twenty-Four.

  6. 6. Click each sample name, such as Francesca Piovani, and type your person's name. Do the same for the line under it.

  7. 7. Click a sample photo, press Replace in the toolbar above it, and pick your own picture.

  8. 8. Press Publish at the top right. A box asks Are you ready to publish? Press Publish again.

  9. 9. Open yoursite.com/meet-the-team in a new tab and check it on your phone too.

No Editor, only Appearance › Customize? Then your theme is an older (classic) one. Pages › Add Page works the same way, but the team layouts on offer come from your theme, so yours may have none. We haven't tried CMSHands on a team page with one yet.

In our test run on Oct 14, 2026, on Twenty Twenty-Four, it kept both lines word for word, each under a heading with the person's name. The page had no photos: add them yourself with an Image block.

Why it won't wreck your site

  • Nothing changes until you press the button. Every change comes as a card that names it. Nothing happens until you press the button or Not now.
  • One click undoes it. When something can't be undone, like deleting a page or a plugin, the card says so before you press.

What it won't do here

  • A preview of the pageThe card, the box in the chat you press to approve, names the page but doesn't show it. Pressing publishes it: open it, read it, undo if it's wrong.
  • Team photosIt can't upload photos. Once the page is live, open it in the WP editor and add an Image block for each person.
  • Adding it to your menuIt doesn't put the page in your menu; we haven't tested menu changes. Add the link yourself.
  • Page buildersA page builder is a plugin such as Elementor or Divi that lays out pages its own way. CMSHands adds a normal WP page; builder pages need the builder itself.

Questions

How do I create a meet the team page in WordPress?

Add a new page under Pages › Add Page and call it Meet the team. Then press the +, open Patterns and pick a layout under Team. Swap the sample names, lines and photos for your own and press Publish. Many block themes, like Twenty Twenty-Four, come with a team layout.

Do I need a plugin for a team page?

No. For a small team, a normal page with a name, a photo and a line for each person is enough. Team plugins help when you have many people to sort into groups, or want a separate profile page for each one.

How do I add a photo for each person?

Open the page in the WP editor and click where the photo should go. Press the +, pick Image, then Upload or Media Library. On a team layout, click the sample photo and press Replace instead. CMSHands can't upload photos, so this part is yours.

Will the new page show up in my menu?

Not on its own. On a block theme, open Appearance › Editor › Navigation and add a link to the new page there. CMSHands doesn't add menu links: we haven't tested that yet.

Can I undo the team page?

Yes. Press Undo on the card. In our test run it took the page off the site and said: “Undone. I checked afterwards, and it's back the way it was.” The page's address showed “not found” again.

Is it free?

To start, yes: 3 changes with no account, then 10 a month once you add your email. Questions are free, up to 30 a day (100 with your email).
